Book Artificial Insemination

We offer a number of services, including side-by-side collection and artificial insemination for dogs and receipt of chilled semen for canine artificial insemination.

Artificial insemination for dogs is a useful breeding tool for breeding certain breeds, where stress is a factor, where a stud dog has been injured and cannot physically mount the bitch or when geographical distance between dogs is an issue.

We insist that bitches are progesterone tested prior to insemination, this can also be done through us at Dragon Lab. Progesterone testing will allow us to inseminate only once the bitch has ovulated and the eggs are ripe for fertilisation. 

Once day of ovulation and subsequent ideal day of mating has been established, you will need to organise with the stud dog owner to meet at our clinic so the side by side insemination can take place. 

If chilled semen is to be shipped, you will need to inform the sender that semen will be required on the specific day.
